About This Event:

Aimed at preparing healthcare professionals to improve patient satisfaction, this program strives to equip participants with the ability to identify waste and provide management the knowledge and data necessary to make informed decisions that best impact the patient care system. Lean Sigma Blue Belt training combines online education with 7.5 hours of flexible, one-on-one instruction and mentoring, providing candidates with the tools and methodologies of Lean and process variation reduction. This course is also appropriate for professionals in other service organizations.

Participants learn:

  • How to make improvements in complex value streams
  • The important role of business metrics and business process management
  • The value of data versus opinion when analyzing a process
  • The impact of value-added and non value-added activities

Case studies and exercises feature process improvement methods, such as Process Change Management, PDSA (Plan Do Study Act), DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), error proofing and process metrics.

Project outcomes, including financial impact, are documented through identifying before-and-after improvement metrics. Candidates earn certification by passing an exam and undertaking a process improvement project.
