About This Event:

Understand the major principles, concepts, and techniques of a lean business system. Individuals and teams will gain a better understanding of the components and underlying philosophy of lean, based on the Toyota Production System (TPS), and how the elements and philosophy work together to create a lean enterprise.

The workshop uses lectures, videos, discussions, and a simulation, to show you how:

  • Training, involvement, and supervisory practices create the foundation for lean.
  • The roles of stability, flow, leveling, pull, and kaizen.
  • How the PDCA (plan, do, check, act) discipline holds processes together and improves them on a continuous basis.
  • The role of management in creating and supporting a lean enterprise.
  • The role of hoshin planning (policy deployment) as a management system.
  • The implementation challenges you’ll face and how to overcome them.
