6 Sigma & Sales

I am a brand new greenbelt just assigned to a sixsigma project in sales. Sounds neat... but, I'm a little lost and could use some objective inputs on the best way to handle this.
My process begins with prospecting and ends with account fortification plan implementation. My area of sales is new as of last year; and, my mission is to establish growth positions in new markets.
How the heck do I start? I've identified prospecting as the area I need the most help with; but, can't readily identify what I could consider a "defect" (and, my BB says I have to have one). I know that a lot of the tools are applicable -- and I don't want to be a rebel -- but, to tell the truth I have no idea how to turn this into a DMEAC project.
