    Good morning Annon,

Yes - the set up etc etc is similar to a workout - the difference is the basic lean tool set taught & the implementation is typically "lean based".  Although you can still use the same format to accelerate GB projects with some modification.

The WBS of an event - I will say, and putting my neck on the line here, that there is no standard.  If an event is to be successful it has to be matched to the cultural and business needs - thus events have to be "hand crafted" - typically subtle changes.  For example driving an event in "business Intelligence" is different from driving one on the shop floor in manufacturing - different tool set, soft/hard skill set and the tools are different.  In the transactional world you set up with more "soft skills" in mind, in Manufacturing you set up to drive results hard.

I have a lot of case studies from different industries and groups.  I tend to not look for other on-line examples as I'm more than satisfied with my level of knowledge - perhaps some one out there can point you in the right direction - still feel free to call me to discuss application.

Typically Kaikaku/Kaizen events are set up "to achieve a set result" in a minimum of time.  I use a VSM event as opportunity selection - a way of laying out a high level view of the business, overlaying data, issues, using prioritization methods to tactically and strategically select opportunities.  Then Kaikaku/Kaizen, GB etc etc events are set up to resolve the issue/opportunity.

Typically, depending upon an events scope/nature, a solution is implemented in less than 5 days - with dramatic results.  Again it depends upon the issue - if it's highly technical and needs significant data validation it takes longer, if it is a simple process change then results are rapid.

Hope this helps with your questions.
