I have a Motorola pager. I inspected it when I bought it and test it every time I use it.
It works - pages without failure each and every time.
It runs on a penlight battery which lasted over 6 months out of the box, twice as long as expected
It bounces off hard floors and still works (tested three times from chest hight).
It also doubles up as an alarm clock and gives me news headlines five or six times a day for free.
I also have a N***a mobile phone.
The front cover has broken.
It still vibrates when it rings, even though I have turned that option off. Several times.
The screen backlight goes off too soon.
It takes forever to initialize and let me use the stored numbers on the SIM card.
It does not work at home.
The data modem locks up sometimes and requires a power cycle to reset.
It can take hours for voice message to arrive.
Both companies are using Six Sigma to improve their products. Both products 'work'. Only one product delights me to the point that I recommend it to friends. As for the phone - I'll choose another one next time I upgrade, perhaps a Motorola one.
Listen carefully, and you will hear my opportunities for you to get it right, and the times you don't. Remember - each and every product/service is fully tested and inspected - by the customer.
