Auditing Process for Completed Six Sigma Projects
Posted by: Gary Posted on: Tuesday, 17th April 2001, 12:00 AM.
Gary,
The idea of auditing a completed project is a little foreign to me. A completed project should be "self-auditing" through primary and secondary metrics left in place, reviewed by management regularly, as part of the control phase. The primary metric is a direct measurement of what the project should have accomplished. Secondary metric (sometimes referred to as cheater metrics) are metrics of things that could be compromised to make the primary metric look right. For example, primary metric is purchased price of a part, the secondary metric would reflect the cost of that part through your system to make sure the cost reduction did not cost you more.
If measures are left in place with response criteria, there should be no need for an audit. Message Thread: Return To Discussion ForumPost A New MessageRead the Forum Guide to Good Etiquette
