Control Chart Limits

Dear All, myself along some of my co-GBs have has this discussion for a while with no conclusion.

Hence I seek your valuable inputs.

When would you suggest we freeze the limits of control charts (using minitab), in a normal scenario as we feed in live data, Minitab automatically recalculates the limits & means. As a result we may have a situation where signal are not identified quickly & process always seems stable.

What do your think...? Should the limits be frozen in Minitab or should they be dynamic. What are the pros & Cons?
