I was wondered is there a set of rules to follow when doing either a transactional or manufacturing Six Sigma Project and you want to determine what the cost savings will be for that project?  I have been away from working in Six Sigma for a few of years, but at that time Project Savings Goals were based on looking at the data to determine the issues and that were attributed to the problem and savings was based upon the elimination or the reduction of those defects associated with those issues.  Is this still the way that it is being done?  Or is there an easier method of making that determiniation?  Thanks in advance for all of the assistance with this.
