Six Sigma Lacks Innovation

In a forum dedicated to Six Sigma one would expect the one-size-fits-all approach found in most answers.

I am personally a believer in the program but see Six Sigma tools (even DFSS tools) as falling short of fostering business and product INNOVATION.

Does anybody have specific suggestions on this topic? How can we most effectively add innovation to the Six Sigma process and toolbox?
