The Myths of Six Sigma
Posted by: Carol Trimmy Posted on: Saturday, 22nd December 2001, 1:29 PM.
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to do some thinking around the myths associated with Six Sigma. I'd like to brainstorm as many myths as possible, so that I may prepare a response when these myths are voiced in my Black Belt's teams. I would greatly appreciate your help on this forum in presenting additional myths. Here's what I have so far:
- Six Sigma is the same as TQM
- Six Sigma is too statistical for Transactional processes, it should only be used in manufacturing
- Six Sigma projects take too long to complete
- Six Sigma is too complicated for our business
