Project Charter Types-Help!

Hello Everyone,

One of the funny things about what I call "Lean Six Sigma" is that for a system designed to help reduce variation, there are so many variations in application. My current quandry is the Project Charter. I am used to working with six topics, Team, Problem statement, Scope, Goal, Business impact and Milestones. I have recently started working for a company that use an eight topic charter on two pages, some of which seems to be information you would include in a review.

Does anyone have any insightful information as to the most common or effective charter types, as I don't wish to start a cultural push and shove match here?
