Plan for Nested Gage R&R
I have a gage which is used to pull welded plastic and record the pull pressure it took to break the plastic piece. I was asked to conduct a Gage R&R. This is a distractive test and the housing for the plastic pieces comes from three different welders. If I cut nine pieces out of one housing and repeat for all 10 housings, I will get 90 pieces. I can assume the nine pieces as homogeneous samples. Do you think this is the right way to conduct nested Gage R&R?

When to Use Johnson Transformation
I have a data set (n=15) which fails normality for Anderson-Darling as per our company procedures (we have to prove normality before we statistically analyze data). We have to transform it with either the Box-Cox transformation or Johnson Transformation. The Box-Cox fails to find a transformation, but the Johnson transforms. If the data could not be transferred to normal data I could find a non-normal distribution.

"There is an outlier in the data set when a box plot is constructed, but all data points are in control (I think there is less variation than expected). Is the Johnson Transformation a very severe transformation when outliers are present? Should we be using this transformation?

Process to Improve Flow
Is anyone able to provide a systematic process for improving flow? A lot of the material I've reviewed goes on about the key principles of flow (i.e., one-piece flow, small batches, etc.) and not how to actually do it. I'm looking for a step-by-step process with practical examples.

Correlating Cpk and Sigma Level
An auto component manufacturing, small-scale organization wishes to improve the quality level of its products. CPk of few components is less than one. How should they proceed? How do you correlate CPk and sigma quality level?

Fixing Material Floppiness
I recently started my Green Belt classes at work and was given a project to fix 'floppiness' in nonwoven material. Sounds like an easy fix maybe, but my hang up is how do I measure it? From what I understand, there isn't any known method of measuring it. Any ideas on where to begin?
