Interaction Key to Conducting High-impact Training

Many Black Belts and Master Black Belts are asked to teach others in their organization about Six Sigma. To make the best use of the time allotted for these educational sessions, Belts must conduct high-impact training. This means presenting the subject in a way that leaves a lasting impression and ensuring that the students fully understand what they have learned.

Getting Champion Approval
Can we please discuss our experiences of getting approval of Black Belt or Green Belt projects from Champions?

Using Single-factor ANOVA
A prospective surgical method is to be compared to the standard method. The response variable (n) is how many lymph nodes can be removed during surgery, so basically n is a count of the lymph nodes removed. I had been intending to use single factor ANOVA with perhaps some transformation on the residuals as the method of analysis to test for a significant difference between the two methods, but I've read that this isn't a good approach. Any advice would be great.

Setting the LCL
In an Xbar and R chart, why would the LCL for the range not be zero? I don't want the math to calculate the LCL. I want an example of when you wouldn't want the LCL to be zero because it doesn't really make much sense not to be zero all the time. This applies to measuring small subgroups of parts.

Scanning Data
Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for using scanning for data collection? More so, from a handwritten copy versus an electronic copy. The data sets are currently captured in handwritten document history records/batch record formats.

"There has to be some better solutions out there than rekeying data (there is an automated solution to extract the data into a usable format that is currently in development but is still 2 years from realization at last update, so I need to do something quick and efficient in the meantime.) Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Academic Process Customer
In an academic process, who is the customer? I can see an argument for both the student (who spends time and money and consumes the curriculum) and the market place (which creates the ultimate demand for the school's output).

"I would like to better understand which of these relationships should take precedence during process design. Or is that a question the designers must answer? In other words, does it depend?
