Have data(Pre collected) from 100 customers for the process services and they are gauged on 10 parameters. Each parameter is being measured on a scale of 1-7,7 being the best.So for each parameter we have 100 feedbacks ranging from 1-7.The Chi-square P value for 10 parameters is 0.5567.

Should I use discriminant analysis?

Pls share your thoughts on analysis for understanding the variance in parameters.Which parameter need to be identified out of 10 and what analysis could be done.

My objective is to identify the significant parameter and do further drill down.

many thanks

I think you will have to provide more information before anyone can offer any suggestions.

Questions:

1. You have 10 parameters rated on a 1-7 ordinal scale – what is it that you want to do with the 10 parameters? Usually with measurements of this type you have some overall rating of something like customer satisfaction and you are interested in looking for significant correlations/associations between the overall rating and the values of the 10 parameters.

2. If we assume you are looking for connections between the 10 parameters and one or more outcomes, why are you using Chi-square? Chi-square will give you a measure of association but it will not take advantage of the ordinal nature of the measures you have made.

3. If you are using Chi-square to check the 10 parameters relative to one another, it would be useful to know why this matters, but again- you are discarding the information buried in the ordinal nature of the data.

If you could provide some answers to the above then perhaps I or someone else may be able to offer some additional comments.
