Per instructions I provided my boss with the 80/20 rule of days for salary and hourly employees the time it takes for them to get hired in the system until their first day. hourly 80% was 8 days and salary it was like 7 days. She said it was not enough. Any ideas on what should be added to an anlysis? Yes, I asked her and got crickets |

Provide a basic diagram like a histogram showing the spread of the data. Means mean nothing without context. |

@foreverlearning I don’t understand what you are doing. Normally you start out with 2 questions – 1. What do you want to know 2. How do you want to see it. It looks a lot more like you are giving her answers and she is saying “that wasn’t the question.” Anytine we have done hiring projects 7-8 days is definately the best I have ever seen. If she can’t figure out the question get some data on what is typical for your area and maybe do a hypothesis test to a target. Maybe that was the question. Just my opinion. |

Hi, From my understanding the Pareto principle 80:20 rule applied here can be misleading your study if the 20% of part representing extreme more days (since it may be a hidden cost to the management).
