We are starting a new Lean Six Sigma dept in our facility. Would anybody have thoughts/suggestions on some PMO software?

Thank you,
Jonna

@jonna – This list of LSS software providers is one place to look: http://www.isixsigma.com/six-sigma-software-providers/

Ed

I use Quality Companion from Minitab. It would be especially good for you starting a new program. I got them to customize it for our deployment too.

Hi Jonna,
First the disclaimer: I do not work for a lean six sigma software company. I am simply an engineer also looking for light footprint, easy to use software.

Recently, I took a MBB class at Ohio State. They introduced me to the Engine Room software.

I have used it some but not a whole lot and like it so far. Why?
1. Simple excel plugin with light footprint. (Excel is universal in sharing data with non stats people) Sometime Minitab gets in the way of sharing data outside our quality circles.
2. Relatively inexpensive. So if you dont like it you are only out $300.
3. From what I can see it follows the DMAIC approach pretty well giving you the tools you will need to manage a project. Detailed multivari analysis I would still leave to Minitab/JMP etc.
4. Each project can be its own workbook with a different worksheet for different stages of DMAIC – so it is easy to keep things organized.

Hope that helps.

what is your industry? We are in healthcare, is it applicable or adaptable to other areas?
