    We are looking for a professional like you who will be responsible for the leadership, management, quality, safety, strategy, and production efficiency of the LD Coating department of the Huntsville site. LD Coating is a Production department that produces automotive catalysts, primarily for the US light duty market. The team consists of five Engineers, four Shift Supervisors and more than 150 hourly staff across a four-shift 24/7 operation.

    In this role, you will assist the area manager lead the Coating Department through an operational excellence journey and tactical plans that deliver the best products to our customers and profitability to the company. In addition, you will provide strong EHS leadership to your direct team, as well as the Huntsville site overall. You will also provide peer leadership that coordinates support to keep the Production lines running safely and efficiently.

    Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

    Leveraging your educational background in Engineering, Business, Science, or your experience as a recognized subject matter expert, you will help to establish strategic goals, and objectives for the production team that ensure continuous improvement. Your experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma will be a plus as you will champion new ideas to foster timeliness of product manufacturing to meet order demand, product quality, and cost constraints. Your dedication to EHS Excellence will show as you champion risk exposure reduction activities and setting zero injury and zero loss of containment mindsets. As a trusted people leader, you will build a high-performance team by role modelling, coaching, and developing personnel that exemplify the culture and behaviors aspired to by BASF and the Huntsville site. This includes identifying training needs of the production team and leveraging Learning and Development resources within the organization to provide necessary training opportunities. Successfully engaging across the site, you will create and sustain strong relationships with all levels from senior management to the shop floor. You will identify synergies and best practices to enable the strong performance of the Material Prep department. Leading by example, you will promote and role model responsible risk-taking, personal development, customer focus, and continuous improvement cultures.
