Propulsion Systems is recruiting for a Process Improvement Analyst to join our PES team using Toyota Production System lean principles and/or industrial engineering improvement techniques. The role will focus on delivering value to our customers by eliminating waste in our business and production processes. Responsibilities will span all business functions and locations with Propulsion Systems in Magna, Clearfield, and Promontory Utah facilities. Summary: Through collaborative leadership practices, engages leaders and employees in using continuous improvement behaviors and systems to realize improved bottom line business results through improved business practices and continual cost reductions. The qualified applicant will join a cohort of employees re-entering the workforce after a career break of at least two years. This cohort will receive special on-boarding designed to provide an effective re-entry into the workforce. iReturn℠ provides experienced professionals with a 12-week "returnship" to prepare for a full-time career in one of several fields at Northrop Grumman through training, professional development and networking opportunities. Qualified applicants will join a cohort of employees returning to the workforce after a 2+ career break for this "returnship" program that focuses on giving you a seamless transition back into the workforce. This cohort program will run from September - December and prepare candidates for an effective re-entry into the workforce. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible for full-time roles with the company.

  • Communicate progress and system improvements through visual, verbal and written methods to stakeholders and business leaders
  • Develop gap analysis with leaders and identify improvement opportunities and initiatives
  • Improve the workforce problem solving ability through coaching and root cause problem solving
  • Use project management (case study) techniques to properly capture and drive improvement initiatives

Successfully design, develop, test, and evaluate business systems and productions processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, and production coordination to gain immediate improvement and foster future improvement.

  • Problem Solving – Use formal problems solving methods to identify and resolve manufacturing, transactional and engineering problems in a timely manner to preserve output while still being committed to root cause corrective action. Facilitates and works well in group problem solving situations.

Education and/or Experience:
BS degree and 5 years’ experience or MS with 3 years’ experience. This experience should be a combination of manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
Computer Skills:
Advance Microsoft Office, Project, and Visio abilities. Intermediate MS SharePoint, eVSM and database abilities.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
TPS Lean, Six Sigma, SCRUM, and Industrial Engineering certifications are preferred 4+ years professional experience and a career break of at least two years.
