Description

The Continuous Improvement Manager will focus on driving continuous improvement initiatives and cost savings for projects at Covetrus. The candidate will execute projects by leveraging the DMAIC process and Six Sigma tools to facilitate improvements, optimize and sustain new processes. They will provide training, coaching and mentoring to others across the company and be recognized as a change agent.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drives CI culture via the Covetrus Business System and closely supports business units through their lean journey
  • Leads assigned CI projects using the DMAIC methodology: Black Belt Projects, Kaizen Events, Process Mapping, Workshops, Just Do It, developing metrics and measurements systems
  • Effectively leads multiple projects/initiatives within budget and time constraints
  • Influence project teams and acts as a change agent
  • Teach LSS concepts and classes to all levels of the organization using the Covetrus Business System
  • Coach/ mentor Kaizen Leaders and developing Black Belt partners on projects and principles leading to internal LSS certification
  • Identifies and collaborates closely with other Covetrus business partners to implement process changes as necessary. (e.g. Tech Services)
  • Assists in creating spend and savings forecasts and consistently tracks ongoing benefit
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project tracking

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 years in dedicated continuous improvement roles

Technical Skills

  • Positive, energetic leadership and self-motivation skills
  • Executes autonomously and meets deadline expectations
  • Proven capability to lead change in an organization
  • Analytical/statistical problem solver; thorough understanding of problem solving methodologies and statistical tools
  • Can navigate an organization to identify sources of data and process ownership
  • Ability to perform financial modeling such as cost/benefit analysis and estimating financial benefit
  • Demonstrated success with a diverse portfolio of project work
  • Experience with Engine Room and Traction desired but not required

Certification

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification required.

Travel

  • 5% to 10%
