Description

This role provides local support for the Madison site Operational Excellence Program including design and deployment of new lean enterprise systems as well as ongoing development of systems already in use. The role will require collaboration with all levels of site leadership as well as global functions based in other sites. The role is primarily responsible for engaging the workforce to understand workflows and facilitate continuous improvement through the application of lean and six sigma principles. Training, coaching, mentoring and the ability to motivate others will be important skills as you collaborate to drive waste out of our systems while coaching others in their journey towards Lean Leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Sensei for Madison’s operations groups in the production of medical reagents, instruments, and consumable products
  • Teach and lead improvements resulting in a gemba and visual workplace daily management environment
  • Apply the principles of `waste reduction’; muda , muri, and mura
  • Drive measurable improvements in quality, material control, throughput, flexibility, and cost
  • Mentor engineers, and shop floor supervisors to instill the disciplines to drive a transition to a lean enterprise
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for operations in a regulated environment (GMP, TPS or equivalent)
  • Develop, participate, and lead training sessions in Lean, kaizen, and problem-solving methods
  • Scope and execute large-scale cross-functional projects aimed at reduction of waste
  • Work with manufacturing department managers and team members to define the implementation strategies for continuous improvement across the organization
  • Support policy deployment activities to define strategic objectives and metrics for the organization
  • Develop appropriate tools and methods to sustain improvements across the organization
  • Promote analytical problem solving through the application of statistical control methodology
  • Incorporate the use of Lean tools and methods in team activities and business problem solving
  • Develop data collection and retrieval tools for organizational use
  • Develop and implement supervisory level control solutions

Requirements:

  • Energetic and positive disposition
  • 3+ years training and experience practicing Lean Enterprise, Lean manufacturing or Lean management with Bachelor’s degree in related engineering or business management fields.
  • Limited experience required with Masters Degree in related engineering or business management fields.
  • Experience making rapid measurable improvements through the implementation of lean and six sigma methodologies
  • Familiarity with software such as MS-Office with intermediate-advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Formulas, Formatting and Printing)
  • Training in basic project management techniques
  • Expertise or specific training in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Software : Lucid Charts, Asana, Jmp , Confluence, Tableu
  • Six Sigma Training (Green Belt or higher preferred)
  • Completion of or experience equivalent with 500-level statistics course
  • Completion of or experience equivalent with a 500-level statistics course
  • Familiarity with Design of Industrial Experiments (DOE) and mathematical modeling
  • Familiarity with ISO13485 quality management systems
  • Familiarity with microsoft visio , publisher or project
