Description
As the Director of Operations for the Gallo Glass Plant, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the strategic direction of production operations for multiple departments/sites. Your focus will be to drive for excellence in product quality. Additionally, you will monitor and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. You will oversee the development of operations managers and lead organizational initiatives and manages budget parameters.
What You Will Do
Leads initiatives relating to safety, quality, service and cost performance within assigned area.
Develops and implements Quality strategies to drive to industry best practice.
Develops labor strategies that are in alignment with functional and business priorities and participates in grievance procedures and contract negotiations, as required.
Establishes and communicates departmental and/or site performance objectives and metrics; ensures alignment with business plan.
Ensures comprehensive communication plan is in place to ensure all key stakeholders are informed and engaged in achieving business priorities.
Creates vision and develops strategies that align with functional and company goals.
Develops or approves recommendations to change systems, policies, and procedures; ensures timely and accurate implementation.
Ensures effective change management methodologies are followed.
What You Need
Master’s degree plus 8 years of production, operations, engineering, or logistics management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of production, operations, or logistics management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 11 years of military operations and leadership experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 14 years of production, operations, or logistics management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
What Will Set You Apart
Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration plus 8 year of glass container production, operations, or logistics management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration plus 12 years of production, operations, or logistics management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
Experience demonstrating process/continuous improvement activities (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and TQM) on a departmental or organizational level within a glass packaging company.
Extensive experience in glass container manufacturing focused on finished product quality.
