    Plan, direct, manage, and supervise the production and logistics related operations directly associated with the manufacturing system. Responsible for the achievement of schedules, quality, cost standards, and labor efficiency goals of production. Additionally responsible for integrating and creating effective communication within the operation, such as to establish optimum employee morale, as well as communication.

    Duties & Responsibilities
    • Lead a culture of safety and implement environmental, health, and safety philosophies and processes to reduce workplace injuries and environmental impact.
    • Ensure that all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Maintain the systems that are associated with the manufacturing of the product to ensure their continuous efficient operation and product quality.
    • Project and forecast the manufacturing requirements as required.
    • Drive an environment of continuous improvement through the application of lean manufacturing, six sigma techniques, and other appropriate techniques.
    • Coordinate manufacturing activities with all functions of the organization and the supply chain to optimize production and the utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
    • Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
    • Review production and operating reports and direct resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimal costs and operational delays.
    • Perform administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
    • Apply people to the right work tasks by following production schedules and applying resources were needed.
    • Balance headcount verses demand to ensure site sales outputs meet monthly goals while maintaining site expected GM.
    • Maintain optimum cleanliness conditions in the entire plant.

    The Individual
    • Associate's degree (or equivalent experience) a related field
    • 3 years of progressive manufacturing experience
    • Comfortable supervising small functional team
    • Strong management and leadership skills and demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse group of employees
    • Excellent working knowledge of safety and environmental practices and regulations, including OSHA compliance
    • Knowledge of Six Sigma, lean principles and other process improvement processes
    • Strong organization, including a high level of attention to detail
    • Strong initiative and accountability to follow up and follow through on tasks to completion
    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and best practices
    • Strong internal personal skills able to foster productive professional internal and external working relationship
    • Ability to solve practical problems
    • Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, and reassign priorities
    • Deal with a wide variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
    • Ability to lead and work in cross-functional multi-cultural teams
    • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-30 pounds
