We are hiring an individual who has experience in enabling, fostering, and mentoring continuous
improvement cross-functionally within Dematic. We are now hiring for a Process Excellence Project
Manager (Lean Project Manager). This role will plan and administer lean principles, tools, and
methodologies in a variety of Global Project Engineering & Installation process excellence projects (often
technical in nature) and ensuring attainment of department strategic goals. The role and responsibilities
will include:
  • Value Engineering- leading cross-functional teams using lean principles and tools to improve
    functionality of products and or processes while reducing costs.
  • Analyzing data and prioritizing opportunities for and driving Kaizen events using Lean Six Sigma
    principles and tools to: determine root causes and corrective actions, address product and
    process issues, increase quality and first time process capabilities, drive innovation, and
    streamline processes for increased efficiency
  • Enable, Foster, and Mentor by applying process innovation, process excellence, Lean Six Sigma
    principles and critical thinking, guide internal teams and the Project Management organization, in
    developing the road map and execution plan to achieve Amazon Program and Dematic strategic
    goals and objectives.
  • Manage project plans related to Continuous Improvement & Value Engineering initiatives and
    drive tasks to completion
  • Creating a change in culture to strive for excellence in the Project Management function and
    supporting teams, using data, setting standards and driving metrics to measure and support a
    Lean transformation.
  • Developing a strong relationship with Engineering, Installation, Finance, R&D, Project
    Management, Supply Chain, and other key business Process Owners and Partners which will
    increase adoption of new ideas needed for success in this role.
  • Successfully managing complex projects throughout lifecycles (origination, definition,
    planning/analyzing, implementation and control) by engaging subject matter experts in
    DMAIC/PDCA problem solving.
  • Driving process measurement, setting of goals (in partnership with process owners), use of
    scorecards and metrics, to monitor/control and report out on process improvement progress.
  • Contributing to development of departmental budgets and business plans for functional area as
    needed/ applicable.
  • Evaluating and recommending changes in methods, procedures or tools in own area of
    responsibility or that of business partners as needed, to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Identifying resource needs and developing justification as needed.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex problems including prioritizing, tracking and managing
    opportunities based on value, return on investment and criticality to business needs and
    achievement of Program goals.
  • Recommending opportunities for change as needed to achieve Program and corporate
    objectives.
  • Owning success of the Lean Value Engineering function in support of Program objectives and
    goals.
  • Producing meaningful weekly status reports and presentation materials for internal and customer
    updates on status of Lean Six Sigma/ Value Engineering initiatives.
  • Participating in and leading internal and customer briefings which may include participants from
    hourly associates up through the executive levels.
  • Traveling to customer, Dematic supplier, manufacturing or installation sites as needed to support
  • Lean / Value Engineering and Program initiatives.
  • Estimate travel up to 50% on an annualized

What We Are Looking For:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in a directly related field
  • Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Lean, Six-Sigma Black Belt
