NOV Wellbore Technology is seeking a Quality Process Engineer , located in Cedar Park, TX The successful candidate will gain an understanding of process issues and will develop and implement effective countermeasures to ensure conformance to customers’ expectations and to ensure the effectiveness of our Quality Management System.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and install quality control process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques
  • Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
  • Analyze production limitations and standards, recommending revisions of specifications when indicated
  • Formulate or assist in formulating quality control policies and procedures and develop the economics of any quality control program when required
  • Devise sampling procedures and design and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data
  • Establish program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities
  • Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
  • Review all purchased products or components and provide input to the decision to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor
  • Prepare reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities
  • Prepare and present technical and program information to team members and management
  • Direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activities
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Scientific discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Background in the application of Statistics, Probability, and/or Combinatorics
  • Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems to include ISO 9001 (is required) and ISO 80079-34 (is preferred)
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of machining, fab & weld, and electromechanical assembly
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, TOC or similar type of methodologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • ASQ Certifications in Quality Engineering, Six Sigma or Auditing
  • JD Edwards ERP experience
  • Knowledge of Minitab or similar type software
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a skilled industrial trade

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Analyzing quality data through the application of mathematics to identify opportunities, which lead to improvements.
  • Ability to generate procedures and work instructions that comply with ISO 9001, API Q1, API Q2, and ISO 80079-34 standards
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
