The Senior Manager CI is responsible to lead the implementation of a world class cultural transformation and instill the lean leader mindset throughout the Tyson family. This requires the ability to drive change and monetary improvements using lean tools in a team environment, while managing and administering initiative timelines and deployment plans.

Most importantly this role will support the overall CI improvement objectives for our International Business Unit by coaching and developing a problem-solving and process optimization culture at all levels and regions of the organization. This position will strategically lead and coordinate projects that result in eliminating waste through both operational processes and transactional processes (e.g., production planning process, Export Documentation process, sourcing process, etc.) The Senior Manager will instruct lean implementation initiatives to sustainably improve operational metrics. The improvements need to be demonstrable, sustainable and easily replicated to drive expected lean implementation results at the speed of success.

Communication and change management is a key responsibility of this role to ensure all levels of the organization are advised and informed on progress to specified milestones. This requires leading and coaching both business professionals and subsequent business partners on how to develop objectives and establish the lean culture. The selected individual will openly and effectively communicate continuous improvement to the organization.

Additional Responsibilities: Partner with local and international Support Functions and Business Unit teams to own and deliver Tyson’s annual commitments; act as direct point of contact during the deployment roll-out of new systems and/or processes; ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety environmental and General Manufacturing Principles; deploy strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of the various work processes of the company; partner with finance to develop baseline financial metrics to document savings and profit results of identified lean projects initiatives; other direction as assigned.


Education: Bachelor’s degree

Experience: 7 plus years' experience in Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Shared Services; experience in Relationship Management preferred. Must demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to project management and functional lean principles and techniques.

Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP experience preferred, Minitab or other statistical software experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and organize significant amounts of information in a professional manner is preferred.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills are required.

Special skills: Project management experience; strong business acumen; expert level LEAN skills; strong process management background; strong coaching mentoring skills; ability to effectively engage and influence others at all levels of the business; Six Sigma certification: black belt with the ability to use statistical software.

Travel: Maximum 4 International trips a year. Domestic trips will be few but required as needed
