Description

Facilitate cross-functional expert teams to drive breakthrough or Best-in-Class performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost metrics.

1 - Attends required training and acquires needed skills.

2 - Reviews BBP metrics and best practices to be deployed from across the organization and facilitates "Recognize & Define" events with champions & process owners to generate new project opportunities.

3 - Mentors Champions and/or process owners in effective project SOW generation.

4 - Identifies key "expert" individuals for team membership and secures their approval to become team members.

5 - Provides Lean or Six Sigma training as needed to project team members.

6 - Applies Lean or Six Sigma tools and techniques to measure, analyze, improve and control project processes.

7 - Reports on project progress to Champion and other appropriate leadership levels at least on a monthly basis.

8 - Prepares detailed plans to track project performance and assure timely completion and achievement of stated project goals.

9 - Identifies barriers to project success and solicits help from champions when needed.

10 - Documents improvement process learning in BBP format and shares best practices with peers throughout organization.

11 - Prepares plant personnel and presents top projects in Regional Reviews.

12 - All other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

1 - Engineering Degree with three years automotive experience or technical trades trained with 10 years experience in plant maintenance/engineering(PLC and/or robot programming highly desirable), tooling or quality discipline. Experience in a Metal Working/Fabrication Environment(Stamping, Gas Metal Arc, laser and/or Spot Welding) preferred

2 - Demonstrated effective leadership and program management skills.

3 - Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise influence without authority.

4 - Demonstrates high-level performance in current and previous positions.

Consistently achieves “Excellent” overall ratings in annual CID reviews preferred. Is considered “high potential” or “successor” in the plant, department or executive leadership succession plan. Exceptions to these two criteria must be reviewed with the CI Director.

5. Demonstrates initiative, the desire to drive change and is motivated to exceed expectations.

6. Possesses exceptional computer skills (MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - experience with MS Access DB or Minitab applications is a plus.

7. Communicates effectively at all levels.

8. Regarded as objective, open-minded and an “out-of-the-box” thinker.
