The Supply Chain Operations Manager (Operations Manager) position is responsible for improving performance, productivity, effectiveness and quality across all regional warehouse operations through the development and implementation of effective methods and strategies. Through operational analyses and performance measurement systems, the Operations Manager will drive end to end operational alignment that enhances the internal customer experience, lead identified process improvements, ensure both tactical and strategic objectives are achieved and hold 3PL service provider accountability to SLAs, KPIs and contract terms. The Operations Manager will interact with and present relevant operational information to all supply chain teams (Planning, CPE Ops, PDC Ops, AFC Ops, and Transportation), 3PL service providers branch leadership and key internal customers.
They will develop and report on action oriented trended metrics with a cascading approach so that overall operational performance and cost effectiveness can be measured, understood, and improved. The Operations Manager needs to have advanced data retrieval and analytical skills in order to understand key drivers behind the trended metrics so that the Operations Manager develops a perspective and is solution oriented as to key drivers for improvement opportunities. The Operations Manager needs to have strong communication and influential skills to impact positive change throughout the organization and vendors. Act as the local representation of Supply Chain to regional leaderships.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Partner with boundary partners/internal customers to determine trended correlation of Supply Chain metrics and performance to customer driven metrics to determine the levers Supply Chain can adjust to enhance overall experience through improved service levels while also improving companys financial position.
  • Plans, performs, and implements process improvement and/or change management initiatives.
  • Develops and implements processes to establish and maintain quality standards for logistic activities, production, and finished goods inventory reporting.
  • Develops and reports cascading trended operational and financial metrics on various levels (national, regional and market) and the relationship these regional operational metrics have with other areas within Supply Chain Operations and Planning, when appropriate.
  • Reviews and audits 3PL (Third Party Logistics provider) compliance and performance to established SLAs and KPIs - Systemically, where possible, reconciles 3PL activity to invoice charges.
  • Develops and implements operational and financial audit procedures and reviews to include, but not limited to, serialized and non-serialized physicals and cycle counts.
  • Partners with operating units to create, maintain, and review trended KPIs.
  • Actively participate in regional production meetings and 3PL quarterly business reviews.
  • Responsible for facilitating meetings and creating and delivering presentations to senior leadership.
  • Catalyst to reviewing and analyzing operational procedures to determine optimal performance to improve operational and financial effectiveness and driving standardization throughout Supply Chain Operations.
  • Strong liaison between regional and market Supply Chain operations to ensure improvement opportunities are identified and realized.
  • Researches best practices within and outside of the organization to establish benchmark data.
  • Analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements.
  • Organizes leads and facilitates cross functional project teams.
  • Must be willing to travel between 50% of the time.

Qualifications:

Minimum
  • 7 or more years of experience required in related field (i.e. Supply Chain, Operations or Production)
  • 5 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree
  • Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, IWMS systems and tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization in remote regions.
Preferred
  • BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Supply Chain, Operations or Production)
  • MBA preferred
  • 3 or more years of experience in a management role preferred
  • Experience in telecommunications industry desired
  • Process Improvement Experience (i.e. Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent, Lean Principals, ISO)
