    Thanks. I’ll tell you what I have.
    There are 8 categories each ranked from lowest to highest and this is how each complaint falls under everytime we receive a complaint.
    I know the frequency for these complaints per branch. I already have a risk factor: severity (rank) X occurrence.
    If I need to combine each branch’s risk factor considering…[Read more]

    Thanks.
    Here’s my dilemma and I’ll provide an example using three different sized branches based on the number of transactions.
    NY – Large (Transactions totalling to 300,000 for month of July)
    Providence – Medium (Transactions totalling to 150,000 for July)
    Houston – Small (Transactions totalling to 20,000 for July)
    NY – 20 service complaints…[Read more]

    Thanks for the reply.
    So you’re saying it does not make sense to see how many mistakes a branch was making per total number of transactions and look at that number for all branches.
    I liked you’re idea about taking into consideration the severity of the mistake. There are 8 categories of how we classify that something went wrong and all 8 have…[Read more]

  • Amisha replied to the topic Prioritization Matrix in the forum General 14 years, 2 months ago

    I have a few questions about the way I want to use a prioritization matrix:
    I have calculated the frequency of a defect times a severity factor of that defect to give me a total risk value ( I created a scale with numbers 1-4 saying which defect is high at risk and which is low). I did this across all my sub-core processes and came up with  rank…[Read more]

    Hardik,
    You mentioned AIAG for FMEA.
    What does it stand for? Is it a standard document on how one conducts the FMEA?Where can I find it? Is it helpful in a transactional business environment?
    Thanks

  • Amisha replied to the topic Audit form in the forum General 14 years, 9 months ago

    The product line is data protection. We have facilities which store clients’ media (media: disks, tapes,etc.). Two critical components is stuff being delivered to clients and stuff coming in.
    We want to standardize our internal work procedures and tighten the chain of control to meet best practices. We would like to audit our field employees who…[Read more]

    Hi Sridhar,
    Please email me a copy of the FMEA case studies as well.We are currently using this tool in our organization and it would be extremely helpful to get our hands on this case study.

  • We have 50 projects selected.
    We toyed with the idea of using an FMEA analysis, but that just tells you the risks in your process.Is there a step you need to perform before FMEA to select your project?
    How about a project prioritization matrix?
    Currently this is what we did:
    Identified the low hanging fruit (quick wins)
    Conducted an FMEA…[Read more]

  • Amisha replied to the topic FMEA scales in the forum General 14 years, 10 months ago

    Here’s the other thing discussed:
    Are severity,detection and occurrence equally important?
    If not is it possible to make an adjustment to the FMEA math to compensate for the difference?

  • Amisha replied to the topic FMEA scales in the forum General 14 years, 10 months ago

    If I have project rating of:
    S = 5
    O = 5
    D = 10
    and S = 10,O = 10, D = 1 for another project, some people in my group argue that even though the first project RPN score of 100 maybe ranked lower than the second project score of 250, we should look at the first project in detail because detection rating is not as important to us as much as the…[Read more]

  • Amisha replied to the topic Green belts in healthcare in the forum Healthcare 16 years ago

    What is the makeup of a six sigma team in a healthcare setting?
    For example the number of black belts and green belts hired,are they already within the organization or does a hospital contract black belts externally as well?

  • Amisha replied to the topic Green belts in healthcare in the forum Healthcare 16 years ago

    Thanks Rp!
    By qualification I am a chemical engineer and yes I am looking for a full time consulting opportunity.I’ve heard it would even be a good start to get an internship in such a case but I’m afraid medical/health internships are granted to those enrolled in such a program.I will be volunteering at a hospital and am hoping to learn as much as I can.

  • Amisha replied to the topic BB training in the forum General 16 years ago

    Dr.Jacquescoley,
    Thankyou for the valuable insight! I am really interested in pursuing my black belt and using those skills in a healthcare industry.
    Would you know healthcare consultancies who’d be willing to hire GBs/BBs apart from GE Healthcare?
    I’d appreciate any information

  • Thankyou for your reply!
    Yes I am not from the US, but I always thought American companies have stringent rules regarding the content on a resume.What I specifically mean to say is, you really can’t be a tad dishonest and misrepresent facts.Thats why I thought it was safer to put ‘trained as a green belt at Motorola University’ rather than…[Read more]

  • Thankyou for your advice.
    I will insert the words ‘ completed green belt training’.Does it make a positive impression on the recruiter if you mention the Institute at which you undergo the training (Motorola in my case?)
    So my idea of volunteering/interning does not sound as absurd as I thought for a green belt project!(Since you mentioned you…[Read more]

  • Thanks for the informative insights!
    Where must I include the green belt training in my resume? I am thinking it will be the special skills section.What is the best way to frame such a sentence?
