What? What a silly response. “The Six Sigma fields are not infinite…” Is that your response to why the forum is diminishing in useful discussions? Please. Go visit another forum if that’s the case. I agree with the original post that we need to bring this forum back into focus. Joking is fine, but put it in the context of Six Sigma (project,…[Read more]

They all roll-up measurements for senior management reports. Here’s a thread with a lot of options:

Vallejo replied to the topic Error-proofing for Chemical process (?) in the forum General 18 years, 4 months ago
Dear Andy:
Thank you very much for your reply. I agree with your comments. This kind of processes are a little more complicated. In some opportunities I think about to “shot” a signal from a SPC graph (of some key input variable) to correct the process, but usually the problem is not so simple. There are feedforward mechanisms that act in a…[Read more] -

Mark,
I definitely see you as qualified and credentialed. I don’t see much issue with you entering the healthcare industry again. PMP and Six Sigma are tied pretty closely, and most Deployment Leaders in Six Sigma will realize that a good project manager can lead Six Sigma projects better. You also bring the great credentials — I would say it’s…[Read more] -

A proper CTQ (critical to customer’s perception of your quality, measurable, includes a specification) may be:
Less than 4 words out of one million is typed incorrectly.
But that isn’t going to provide an answer to your question “what’s the best solution for this problem.”
In my opinion (and I don’t have all your data), you’re putting the cart…[Read more] -

Search this site (upper right hand corner) for span and you’ll find what you’re looking for. It’s not a terribly well documented idea.

Sarah,
If you have specific questions about software, you should consider posting them to the software channel (http://software.isixsigma.com/). It appears to be monitored by software experts.

My mail is [email protected] and I would like to receive THE formula… If you can…
This subject is a problem when we need to estimate sampling size with a PPM error, and not with a percent… OCC has this limitation
Thanks

You piqued my interest!
Here’s what I’ve found on the internet so far:Common sense and chemical intuition suggest that the higher the temperature, the faster a given chemical reaction will proceed. Quantitatively this relationship between the rate a reaction proceeds and its temperature is determined by the Arrhenius Equation. At higher…[Read more]

I think this is an appropriate location to post statistical questions. Look around, parametric and non-parametric discussions are occuring everywhere! I think statistics is a key cornerstone of Six Sigma, don’t you?

Vallejo replied to the topic Six Sigma Success and Failure in the forum General 20 years, 4 months ago
IMHO – A company is a Six Sigma company when most people within the company (including ALL leaders) “talk the talk” and “walk the walk” of Six Sigma. That means that the culture has been modified in such a way that most people think from a process standpoint and make decision based on data (data that has been collected and verified via MSA).
See…[Read more] -
Vallejo replied to the topic sampling plan- no sugesstions so far in the forum General 20 years, 4 months ago
You need to categorize your data into accounts that should be reviewed and those that don’t need review (as a function of your risk). Then you need to randomly (without bias) select reviews so that your sample is representative of the population. I believe there’s information on this site about doing that in the stats section. This will allow you…[Read more]

Six Sigma Organization
Manage by data
Build processes that are repeatable and reproducable
Have a culture to support the two bullets listed above
Non-Six Sigma OrganizationsManage by “gut-feel” and intuition
Run business processes on an ad-hoc basis, little standardization
Have a culture to support the two bullets listed above -

ALI ASKARI
Late last night I send you an e-mail requesting a copy of your list of Six Sigma points that follows the presentation of Deming’s 14 points and Juran’s 10 points. It was late when I sent that e-mail (after a 4 hr driving trip in my car) and gave you my old address which was changed 10 days ago. Please excuse me.
My new address is Y…[Read more] - Load More
