I have a little different question regarding the origin.  I have read the threads about how Motorola developed SS and then read all about what GE had done.  My questions:  Who else was in between those two?   I thought the order was:
1. Motorola
2. Allied
3. ABB
4. GE
Is this the correct order?

Cornerstone was a product by BBN Software out of Cambridge Mass.  My old company used this extensively for Design of Experiments (DOE). 
BBN’s other product was a base statistical tool called RS1 Discover.  These programs are much more advanced than Minitab, but the cost is also about 3 to 5 times.  You get what you pay for however.
