Just tried this in Minitab and did not get what Stan is getting. Here is what I am doing can anyone provide some guidance.
For X – Calc>Random Data>uniform>1000 trials>lower ep -0.01, upper ep 0.01. Store in C1 column
For Y – Calc>Random Data>normal>1000 trials>mean = 0, std dev = 0.06. Store in C2 column

I tried to do this in excel using a toolkit add in random number generator. I can generate random numbers for the uniform distribution but when I try to do it with the normal distribution the bounds I give mean of 0 and std dev of .06 the numbers generated are not all within the -.06 to .06 I would assume them to be.
