ex SME could you email me a few copies of the SME Symposium Proceedings that you kept? I am doing research work on how six sigma came about? I am also interested in the why’s behind it.. the situation, the environment, and anything related to it during the time of its inception. any other contributors would be greatly appreciatied. • Hey there!
……I’am looking for someone that has experience in destructive GRR on powders. You don’t happen to make the GRR on a powder or similar….?

    Hello Doug & Others
I have been thinking about the p to p variation and I end up beeing splittered.
Suppose that we use identical parts in a 10-3-3 setup for GRR.
    That would end up measuring THE SAME item 10 x 3 x 3 = 90 times.
What extra information would that give us?
Compare that with measuring DIFFERENT parts, each one measured 3 times…[Read more]

……I think I get what you are saying.
I have run “lean” programs before (in different countries), but 6s is a methodology that goes more into details.
But at a certain point you run out of “low hanging fruit” and you NEED more tools in the tool – box.
    6s SEEMS to provide that.
    Thanks!

    ….ok.
I am a master black belt as well, but very “green”.
Our company has been involved only since 1 year.
    ……but I think 6s can be good. I hope.

    Dough,
you have been extremely helpful, and thanks for your time!
I see that I should go back to my original strategy….
    Thanks again!

    Thanks!
That was my first thought too. But will I then “miss” the opportunity to measure over a broader intervall?
Using “one batch” would concenjtrate the measurements around “One value”, which would perhaps invite me to think that the ms is linear?
