I need a few clarifications on HOV & ANOVA
1. What do we do first – HOV or ANOVA?
2. If HOV is done first and it fails, then do we still need to do ANOVA?
3. In HOV, which result we need to consider – Bartlett or Levene’s?
thanks

actually there is a fair amount of confusion whether to consider volume as discreet or continuous. many people treat it as psuedo-continuous.

RK started the topic Statistical Significant X – But How Much? in the forum General 13 years, 7 months ago
Hi,
My metric is reducing inflow of duplicate payments on a weekly basis. If the result of my Anova/Hov ( i have a normal data) tell me that there are 5 statistically significant Xs ( p value < 0.05):
1. Processor, 2. Business Division 3. Day of the week 4. Type of Invoice 5. CustomerHow do I find out what is the degree of significance of…[Read more]

would require more info…but what I can guess is that the set up is a helpdesk where you receive calls and you want to establish the relationship between the volume processed ( invoices?) by the team is any way related to the call volume. let me know if I read this right?
If I am right, then your X & Y are continuous. So you do a regression

RK replied to the topic How to choose a project? in the forum General 14 years ago
are the companies moving away from productivity improvement or cycle time reduction projects?
the kind of recession in which most of the countries are , they are talking high impact six sigma projects which directly impact the bottomline.
for me, it is a big challenge to look for such high impact ideas… -

RK replied to the topic Clarification on AGRR in the forum General 17 years, 2 months ago
Identical outputs? I don’t understand.
The same set of parts are to be measured by all appraisers across all trials. For an attribute gage study, the parts should be a mix of good parts and rejected parts. Select parts close to the Upper and the Lower limits of the attribute gage so that they have a good opportunity to demonstrate R&R. To get a…[Read more] -

A book titled ‘Handbook of Customer Satisfaction Measurement’ by Nigel Hill has a good discussion on Customer Satisfaction indices.
You could look it up on the library shelves under ISBN 0-566-07766-3

Rambad,
I do not know the reason why 2 trials of an attribute GRR study should be done on two different days. If you do not want the appraiser to ‘remember’ the previous trial decision you can always randomize the trials. If you have adequate number of parts and randomize the trials, the chances that the appraiser will identify the part and…[Read more] -
RK replied to the topic Clarification on AGRR in the forum General 17 years, 2 months ago
The purpose of repeated trials in a GRR study is to detect the contribution equipment variation. An R&R study is conducted in a single session and not over 2 or 3 days. The parts that are used to perform a GRR study need to represent the variation in the process that manufactures them. These can be collected over 2 to 3 days so as to have an…[Read more]
