I am not the person from IT industry and hence I am not able to understand what you mean by SOFTWARE process. My understanding of process approach is “INPUTS converted to saleable OUTPUT through some transformation mechanism”. Here TRANSFORMATION MECHANISM is process.
By SOFTWARE process, do you mean …

    Hi Vijaya,
Please explain the process, for which you want to find out the control limits, for better understanding. What do you mean by optimal control limit? I understand product specification limits are set by designer and control limits are set by the process employed to achieve the design specifications.

  • Hi Ricky,
Could you send sample EQUIPMENT FMEA please and the rating system (for S, O, D rankings)? Is it different than process FMEA.

  • Hi. I am new to the forum, but have undergone the ASQ certification process. Although it was easier for me since I had done six projects in my organization before appearing for the exam, I agree with the view that ASQ should strengthen their approach of certifying any Tom, Dick & Harry who clears the exam. Morover, about the MBB, we all have…[Read more]

  • Dear All,
We are in the process of Six Sigma capability development at our organization. We have found that the people are more interested in getting recognized with some belt certification apart fron the Financial and other recogniations they get from the association in the Six Sigma journey. Since we have started about a year back, we can not…[Read more]

    Dear Waste,
Your answer to point A is really valid one as we cannot take Angular velocity as independent variable factor.
Thanks a lot but still sample size is controversial. What is your advise? Should I go for increasement in sample size or no need?
    Thanks a lot again.

  • Singh replied to the topic ANOVA..? in the forum Europe 13 years, 11 months ago

    Dear Waste,
Thanks a lot, What I got from your reply is
1- After MANOVA no need to apply paired t-test.
2- As I am also not conservative, so I will also prefer Bonferroni post hoc test.
If I am wrong about point 1, than kindly tell me.
I have only some more points to discuss on this issue,
    A- Don’t you think that I can…[Read more]

    Dear Waste,
Thanks a lot for your kind reply. It was more than enough to elaborate everythinng. The four parameter which you can’t get, they were velocities on which muscle power was going to be measured, and those were 270, 180, 90, 60 degree / sec.

I have only 2 more questions,
1- If we get siginificant difference b/w…[Read more]

As far a my knoledge goes, these are the indices associated with the short term capability studies. Cp & Cpk are the indices for long term capability studies.
For Pp & Ppk  studies, we require continuously manufactured 30 ~ 50 data points. The standard deviation is calculated considering the part to part variation through RMS methodology. F…[Read more]

Collection process is only one factor contributing to DSO. Depending on the findings, if this one merits changes, then a critical input would be ideal number of touchpoints to a customer who figures in the 80% pareto as well as the frequency and quality of that resource. A project I did on DSO reinforced that a seasoned collector who shares a…[Read more]

This is excellent forum and gave lot of information.
Any one knows good consultant for BlackBelt Training. I am interested in public training but have budget less than $8000. Some big institute is charging very high.
Does any one have any experience with SIXSIGMA.US training? They charge less?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Thank you Bob and Joel,
With my query on Life testing basically I wanted to know if I can conclude that testing time can be reduced from 168 hrs to 113.3 hrs by increasing the temperature from 90 degC to 200 degC, based on the data that I have analysed. And the comparision is based on the same survival probability.

  • Hello,
I have some questions in analysing the Life of the product. Normally we test the product at 80 degC for 168 hrs in Laboratory. Now I want to reduce the testing time as much as possible and accelerate the test. I used temperature as the accelerating variable and gathered some data up to 200 deg C.
Here is excerpt of what I got as a table…[Read more]
