  • Chris, I’m not really sure what you are saying about my friend Sarah, but I’d love to wrestle with her anytime – if she kept her mouth shut.
As for John Galt, I’d vote for him. He would not lie to us about he was […] 10 years ago

  • Yes, give up. The accuracy of an appraisal probably doesn’t matter anyway. You should just ask the customer what number they need to get their loan.

Seriously though, every visual inspection is subjective. The solution is training and even maybe deciding who cannot do any further appraisals. 10 years, 2 months ago

  • @SSISixSigma

Deacon, I’ve never interviewed anyone who came through Villanova’s certification that I would hire. What is your criteria for calling their program very good? 10 years, 3 months ago

  • @mclayton200 Very succinct and I agree. Should have tried that instead of your initial ramble.

Wheeler isn’t controversial, he is impractical. Pretends thing like specs don’t exist but that doesn’t work in reality.

I think you will find most of us would never use a gauge study to justify a new gauge. You do that if needed by looking to see…[Read more]

  • @Mike-Carnell You’re right CNN / CNBC who can tell the difference? The only one that is different is Fox and they are Rush with makeup.

They are getting PC however. they took down their posting on Obama declaring war on marriage. Rush is by himself. 10 years, 6 months ago

  • @mclayton200 Two things –

Wheeler is a smart guy but his rants about GR&R are just that. If I know Wheeler’s number, I can derive all the others or vice versa. How can that be a superior method?

Your previous ramblings that said absolutely nothing had nothing to do with Wheeler. Those that take several paragraphs to say nothing, know…[Read more]

  • @Trish I think the writer is an academic buffoon and he is just trying to sell his product.

A variation of this article had appeared every year or so for the last 20 years. 10 years, 6 months ago

  • @mclayton200 If you don’t know the answer, just say so.

Everybody else, good discussion but it’s not just Cp, it’s Cpk or Cpm too.

Back to Tom’s original question, we have to assume it’s %Study he’s talking about and the answer is who cares if a little more than 20% of the variation is coming from the measurement process? 10 years, 6 months ago

  • Hey, I’ll put a certification from Stan against any in the world.

Stevo, I think you still owe me $10 for yours. 10 years, 8 months ago

  • Look! Competition for FreeMBB! Janice should take note of the strategic timing of this press release and perhaps follow suite to be taken more serious in the future –

  • @dushyantthatte It’s pretty naive of you to say “developing this LSSTOC methodology “. TOC has been part of Six Sigma since the first person read The Goal at Motorola sometime in the mid 80″s.

If you think 25 years later you’re the first person to think of this, just read Mr. Whitney’s post. 10 years, 8 months ago

  • Stevo, tell the truth. You only liked her because she was dressed like a hooker. 10 years, 8 months ago

  • @edwardz I think you are confused. This is iSixSigma, not iIT.

But just in case I am wrong, I haven’t got any certification – Six Sigma, Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or IT. And certainly nothing from Cisco. 10 years, 8 months ago

  • @lcadigan OMG, my knees are weak. I don’t believe I’ve ever been accused of actually imparting wisdom before.

Crikey? Didn’t I tell you about that thought, word, and deed thing? I do have to admit that this is a very tough set of rules, but we weren’t put on earth to not be punished for acting like humans while we are here. Clean up your act if…[Read more]

  • Searching the web site this morning, I ran across some tags to Mike Harry. Since I’ve not heard much from our old friend since “The Great Discovery”, I decided to see what a search of the site would lead to and found this old gem –

  • @lcadigan Jeepers yourself (we might get censored on this since it’s slang for using the lord’s name in vain – you do know the thought, word, and deeds clause – right?

Sorry to not be meeting your wisdom quota. I find it usually works best if you bring some too. Kind of like the old Beatles line – “and in the end ….” 10 years, 8 months ago

  • @Mike-Carnell Jimi’s Blues album about six times today (I seem to be in a funk). Try an iPod, not quite McIntosh and Klipsch cornerhorns, but not bad. 10 years, 8 months ago

  • @Mike-Carnell. No Drive By Truckers today. Listened to to That Smell by Lynyrd turned up to 11 about a dozen times before my better judgement returned home. Then Steve Earle and Jack White intertwined for about 5 hours at about 11 into some Klipsch Lou Reed headphones (highly rated by me, I hope Lou doesn’t mind the Southern thang going on in…[Read more]
