Does that mean that SS is no-more valid or is it an indication of “lack of efficiency” ??

Having Phd in Psychology shouldn’t be a negative point?I wonder why everybody is attacking Harry for that?Instead of your excessive amount of Envy,I advise you to read his books and try to learn something about SS implementation, regards

villageidiot replied to the topic Converting subjective VoC to CTQs in the forum General 15 years, 9 months ago
Yeah, you just are working with bad data from the get-go. I think the previous poster was spot on…You really need a reliable, professionally applied and analyzed VOC instrument in place…there are many companies that do an excellent job of this for a fairly reasonable price…they will take your customer list, gather the data, regress it for…[Read more]

Wow….talk about a big fecal sandwich…before you take a bite, here is my 2 cents:
Balance Scorecard the thing first…if you dont know the fundamentals, buy the book. You need to determine how to prioritize your quality efforts: How are you defining success, What are you measuring so you will recognize when you are successful, What are t…[Read more]

You gotta do two things:
Determine what defects are occuring, where, and their impact on the business (costs) and the customer (customer satisfaction=market share)
Determine the cost of this poor quality (COPQ) as it pertains to these internal failures (defects before you ship) and external failures (defects after you ship)

It is additive and thus, multiple measures from the different plants can be calculated and then averaged…DPU also allows you to determine RTY using the inverse log of your DPU…pretty slick an…[Read more]

villageidiot replied to the topic Data Collection Process in the forum General 16 years ago
Your welcome. With due respect, you appear to be jumping ahead before root cause is known and without knowing how you intend to analyze the data you do collect.
For example, take some time and creatively look for ways to move away from attribute data in your project Y and the follow-on analysis (ie days until breakage, hours of usage, et…[Read more] -

Good luck. I would pay attention to operational definitions (ie what does “broke” mean), units of measure (use continuous as much as possible), and capture as many potential predictor variables as possible in data collection (type, model, breakage location, hinge location, user type, age of unit, etc).

OK, let me say I didnt read your question, if you had one….way too long. Ask a question, wax unpoetically else where. But based on your subject line:
By basic definition, you can’t prove anything using inferential statistics without a stable, predictable process. Lean it out. Remove special cause. Now welcome to AIC of DMAI…[Read more] - Load More
