We have many, many attribute gages that measure several demensions (e.g. length, angle, wideth, shape, etc.) As I understand the requirements of the MSA standard, to run the attribute study we need “known” samples that range for below specification, through the spec, to over specification. Because of the many variables measured by our gages I do not know how to produce the required samples. Does anyone else have this situation? How can I address this and still meet the requirements of the standard? My QS 9000 registrar is insisting on it!!!Any help is greatly appreciated.

Use a measurand that can be quickly, easily, safely and accurately set to a random value:ย  gage blocks and calipers come to mind.
