    Hello all,
I work for an insurance company that have developed a huge SS program over the last 5 years, growing BBs and MBBs worldwide. We are thinking about adding other roles like GBs to this program, but we do not intend to let them run DMAIC projects for lots of technical, political and cultural reasons. Their role would be to help POs in understanding the performance of their processes, help them identifying special cause vs common cause variation, act accordingly etc., but not to deliver SS projects. For this reason, we should’nt call them GB, but (for lots of TCP reasons…) we would like to find a SS role that could fit to this situation. I guess a Yellow Belt is not likely to match with this (part-time) job. Have you ever dealt with such silly question ? Thanks a lot and hello from Belgium.

    Franz,
Why not call them GBs?  Your description sounds like a GB role to me, but I could add that a GB would be expected to work on an occasional project team (with a BB leading).
OTOH, if they “identify… variation, act accordingly etc.”, aren’t they doing a mini-SS project anyway?
Others may have their own opinions.
