Can someone tell me how to set the acceptance range of CV?
How many % is considered acceptable for a process?0October 26, 2009 at 12:49 pm #186368
Ken FeldmanParticipant@DarthInclude @Darth in your post and this person will
be notified via email.Haven’t seen a published standard but I like my s.d. to be about 1/10 of the mean but no real reason other than it feels good.
0October 26, 2009 at 12:50 pm #186369It is not a measure that falls into a “pass/fail” classification, but is useful due to its relativity to both the process mean, and when used as a comparison measure. Although I have never found any hard information on this, I have heard a rule of thumb that has worked well for me: A COV above 10% will point toward potential issues with process variability. Again, ROT.
