Hello everyone,
Does anyone have inventive, other ways to name Black Belts and Master Blacks Belts?
For example, Process Expert, Process Master???
Thanks,
Pat0February 1, 2003 at 8:18 pm #82607Hi,
At one division in General Motors (early 1980s), we used the title “statistical engineer” for the position that is now known as a BB and “senior statistical engineer” for the role of a MBB.0February 2, 2003 at 4:58 pm #82621

I prefer the term “Subject Matter Expert”. I believe we will find over the long haul that expecting a BB or MBB to be all “knowing” expert is a bit unrealistic and not the proper use of the talents. Each of us have areas of interest we enjoy immersing ourselves into – a solid SS process should focus on the talents, skills and abilities of all interested personnel in the organization. Having a BB or MBB could over extend some folks and not capture the hidden talents of other folks in the organization.
A SME can bring a specific skill and knowledge to a project, assist the project team as they use the required tool and then move on to the next step in the process.

Evil MBB = Darth xxxx0February 3, 2003 at 2:16 pm #82647

Yellow – Curly Joe’s
Green – Larry’s
Black – Curly’s
MBB – Moe’s
And then there’s always:
Yellow – Baby Bears

Black – Father Bears
Goldilocks – Customer
