Hello,I am interested in the six sigma concepts. I would like to know that if there are any basic qualifications (educational) that is needed to start a career in six sigma industry. I am planning to undergo a training and would like to know before hand that if there is any basic requirements that most industries ask for.

be notified via email.I don’t know of an official educational requirement for Six Sigma training. I wouldn’t put any educational requirements on candidates for Six Sigma green belt training. For black belt training (and beyond), I expect pretty much any 4-year degree would be sufficient to “qualify”.
When choosing candidates for any level of Six Sigma training, I’d look for these:Need to have some mathematical aptitude.
Should be computer literate.
Exhibit leadership potential.
Demonstrate willingness to work in a team environment.
Open to change.
Good communication skills (verbal and written).

What I really meant was, is it necessary that you should have a engineering degree to take the six sigma career path. As in any IT industry, Engineering degree is the basic qualification that most companies require. So my doubt. I come from a commerce background.

It will vary depending on the company. Some compnaies do not require any degree. HornJM’s list of requirements is probably a better list than a degree.0 -
