    Hi
I am new here. am a student doing Industrial Engg at Iowa State Univ, Ames. I was confused over the certification of black/green belt.
    * Is this given only to present employees of a company
    * Can a student like me work part time and get the certification
    * Is the certification coslty :), If i try and get it at some institute. my school does not have a course on six sigma.
it would be great if experienced and pioneers of this forum could clear these basic doubts.
    Thanks

    Hi,
You can visit http://www.asq.org for certification on black belt or green belt. ASQ stands for American Society of Quality. You will get all the information that you need in this website.
    Kind regards,

    Hi,
Yes there are many certification nodies on GB , BB etc.
Eg : ASQ, BMG and there are many in India also like QAI.
But the certification methodology goes like this :
If you want to become a BB : 1) Complete the training 2) Completio of profiency test 3) One live project at ypur college or in any oragnisation needs to  be done:
For the last thing you can take up project trainee assignment in any organisation and take the project through DMAIC/DMADV approach.
I hope this is ok with you.
