where are you located……. came across pacificinternational.com based in london. position in UK and some across europe seemed knowledgable and professional compared to other agencies. they carry out a basic screening interview on BB knowledge and project work etc and specialise in placements in this area. Past experience of other agency ……..nothing worse then speaking to a recruitment consultant who has no idea what you do……. had to deal with someone who would not put me forward for a position as my past lean experience was not in “complicated lean” ????????????0July 29, 2005 at 11:07 am #56725

advice much appreciated, its been a bit frustrating over last 6 months looking for work.Been in manufacturing using continuous improvement for nearly 20 years but without a qualification ,decided to self finance Black Belt training and have passed project submission and the last weeks training next week / recieve my certificate.I am based in Manchester in England0July 29, 2005 at 11:31 am #56727Hi Paul,
Very surprised to see you out of work, with your relevant history.
I am almost certain that ripe4 have advertised for a CI/BB role in Manchester, check out their site.
Also, Paloma recruiting is another place you may consider, i know they are not hacks as a former MBB from where i used to work is there & he had a excellent reputation as an MBB – again, check out their site.
good luck for the future & post if succesful

0July 29, 2005 at 2:03 pm #56730dont worry about the certification being a week off… any employer worth working for will want you for your experience not a cert on the wall… certification is great but knowledge of the tools only comes to fruition when you can apply them to real life scenarios. been a BB for about 18 months but getting very little exposure to different processes and tool useage with my current employer… the other side of the coin nobody else wants ne because I lack the experience best of luck in your search

Its strange never been out of work since 16 untill 40 and with all the knowledge and experience i,ve found it very competitive which is good but when people have a degree they are automatically more attractive and some employers specify min a degree. I know the cert is,nt the be all and end all but have come across some jobs where the company have said if only you had black belt cert then they would be interested. You should push for more involvement in other processes. In the past i,ve optimised other processes with Taguchi DOE without being a knowlegible person on that process, part of teamwork ethic, have process guys on that process and run the improvements with them etc.comes down to how management levels want to improve .
