Does anyone require your black belts to pass a proficiency test whether it is to be allowed to be trained as a black belt or as a follow up of completion of training?  If you do require a test or pre screen what tests do you use and what do you look for?

    Thanks for any help.

I haven’t been part of a deployment that required a pre-test, but all programs I have been involved with require post-test assessments.  Selection criteria for BB candidate selection is widely variable, unfortunately.  All post-training test assessments have been / are required for certification.
The post-test assessments range in quality…again unfortunately.  I’ve seen multiple choice “overall knowledge” tests, and I’ve seen in-depth skills analysis “show your work” tests.  Some are open book, some closed.  Topics run the gambit of BB training and certification – describing the differences between various t-tests, understanding distributions, tollgate processes and the roles of the BB, etc.
