I am considering a career change and am seeking advise with regards to Six Sigma .
Here’s a little background….I have spent 17 years in engineering and sales, and am now facing a layoff.  At my last job I received Yellow Belt training and it came very easily to me and I liked it very much.  In a previous job I had received ISO 14001 audit training and I enjoyed this too.
So now I am thinking of pursuing Black Belt certification in the hopes of landing a new job in this area.
What do you think.  Any thoughts will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Patrick

Rock, it’s not always about BOA.  Check the dictionary on this site.

Rocky, a quick Google search will yield the fact that many organizations are providing YB training.  I can only assume that not all of these folks are employed by BOA.  In fact, although I proposed the concept while at BOA, I wasn’t aware that it had been seriously taken and implemented.  Check out this link:

    Patrick,
If you are American and plan to work in the six sigma industry in America then go for it.  Sounds like you have sound credentials for employment in that part of the woods, maybe eben MBB or consultand.  If you are in Europe, then forget it, we have real 6s experts here.
    regards & good luck G2

Darth, thanks for not taking the opportunity for a cheap shop at BofA.  Look at you, you’re growing.  And you’re right, I don’t know of any division that is using yellow belt.  Some have introduced a basic six sigma knowledge, but does not have a cerification or a belt associated with it.

Wait until you see the new format for GB training.  Quite an adventure lead by the Evil Princess.  Should really take SS to a new level….direction up or down yet to be determined.
