I’m looking for something like a “Catalog of Common Metrics” that covers all kinds of business processes, kind of like the ASQ process classification model, but with metrics. Does anyone know if something like this exists anywhere?
0February 28, 2006 at 7:05 pm #134414We are looking for to benchmark what other manufacturing companies use for their quality, sales, operations, and finance metrics are as well. So if someone can provide this, that would really help us out too.

I believe this one is available for purchase for a meger amount.0February 28, 2006 at 9:23 pm #134426I guess I don’t understand the analogy nor the sense of humor the two guys tried to communicate. Do you guys mean that metrics are useless or no one has any idea how to standardize business metrics.

I completely agree with you, sir. There is no place for incorrigible rapsacallions such as these at such a serious, prestigious website dedicated to the serious business of sigma improvement and the serious determination of serious metrics by which we can all gage the seriousness of the most important metrics pertaining to our very very very very serious work done by our very very very very serious businesses.
My hat is off to you sir for giving these two scoundrels a well-deserved wallop and a fine how-do-you-do for interrupting our quite serious work here at http://www.iserioussigma.com.

However, I’m not sure which category it should appear within, but I would also add “Eliminate Redundancy”0February 28, 2006 at 9:49 pm #134430Cheers! – Oh how I needed a laugh!
0February 28, 2006 at 9:57 pm #134432Aj,
You should consider watching “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”. I suppose it would be an inside joke for those of us that have seen the movie.
Sure, standardizing business metrics is fine. I don’t know if I would be concerned that my company is measuring the same things other companies are measuring but, to each their own.
I think metrics are very important.
Cheers!

Kind of logic we get on this forum from time to time!
