I am working in an industry where the process is of continuous nature and there are lot many quality characteristics i.e. In Put variables required to be monitored with respect to different out Puts and data against these in puts are collected at a regular frequency of 2 to 4 hours. Invariably on evaluation of our process against all the tests pertaining to presence of special cause of variation it is found that control charts convey that our process is not in statistical control. I will be obliged if some input is there as to how, One can over come Type I /Type-II error while plotting / Up dating these control charts. Is it mandatory to evaluate the process against all the eight tests listed in Minitab? To my mind we may not be selective in choosing the test criterion.
