I would want to avoid making one too. I would also want to avoid eating cookies made with one.
Why don’t you just get 6 sigma underwear for everyone? Or maybe we can just tatto a sigma on everyones chest.
Is this a cult or a toolset?

Watch out for the Six Sigma patent police…..how about six sigma xmas cookie…spreading ANOVA and regression happiness to all..!!!  How about a thanksgiving turkey with the six sigma symbol carved into its belly!!  Anyone else have six sigma holiday ideas?……let the world know……MBBs and BBs are people with feelings too!!

    Dear Spiderman,
Is there such a thing as the “patent police”? What are we allowed to do and not do? I was put in charge of developing a holiday gift for our Six Sigma team. Are there somethings I cannot do, that are patent infringement?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I dont think there is a “patent police” per say……I really just meant watch what you use, the owning entity may getcha for it.
I ran into the same problem in trying to come up with our company Six Sigma logo…..you can go to the government trademark site and see all of the patented symbols to make sure your design or idea is not already taken.  I can tell you…there really isnt too many listed…so your options are pretty safe and open.  Hope I was of some help…

Six Sigma is not owned by anyone.. It is a mathematical symbol used in common practice.

I have indeed seen a sigma cookie cutter – but it was a CAPITAL sigma (summation symbol), it was a custom-made thing for an eccentric calculus teacher of my accquaintance.  She had a pi symbol too.  And both left and right antlers (for cookies to accompany Chocolate Moose – which is only spelled that way when served with antler cookies).
See if your local “Cookies by Design” franchisee has Greek alphabet cookie cutters that they would lend you (or make the cookies for you for a fee).  Otherwise, you’ll probably have to make or commission the cutter yourself – I get lots of cooking catalogs and browse web sites and I’ve never seen any Greek letter alphabet cutters. Good luck.

    Hello folks,
Forget the cookie cutters, go for the beer opener.

Just use a “6,” turn it on its side and break off the last bit of the tail. It doesn’t have to be perfect…
Oh wait, I guess it does. (Or at least 99.99966% perfect!)
