We are currently deploying Six Sigma at the Diamond mine that I work at in Northern Canada.  We are currently developing Cost Driver Trees to help line managers know what is causing them to either be on/under/over budget.  As well, we would use the driver trees to evaluate what impact a project might have on the business’s bottom line.
Does anyone know of a piece of software that is designed around cost driver trees?  Currently we are using Excel and these trees get very big and complicated pretty fast.

    Hi Dan,
I have used Driver Trees for about 6 years now very successfully in all facets of BI and cost analysis/prediction.

I do not know of any software specifically for Driver Trees. Although there are Macro’d RCA Excel spreadsheets that may do the job.

    Dan,
We are currently working on a software development project to build cost and tonnage VDTs in SAP. This project is for a large international mining group with operations in northern Western Australia.
The VDT modeling includes multiple mining and processing operations, rail facilities, port and marketing.
If you would like any more information please contact me at my email address [email protected]
    cheers
