    Alright one more try on posting these pictures. If I don’t figure this out I will have Lebowski all over me because I couldn’t figure it out.

    Is there someone younger in the house I can talk to?

    @MBBinWI – Me? Above something to do with “Star Wars” – however remotely? Never!! (I should clarify that I am referring only to Episodes 4-6. I can’t behind the ‘first’ 3.)

    nor 4-6 re-release with revamped graphics. Some things just shouldn’t be messed with.

    But what does that have to do with Darth? Other than “a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away” Now, darn it, I’m going to have to pull out the DVD tonight. There goes the productivity.

    @MBBinWI – Darth Vader images. What can I say? I got inspired!

    I completely agree with you about the 4-6 re-release. They were perfect as-is. Why screw with the classics?

    I was reading a NY Times Book Review the other day and they include a look at what we were reading 1 year ago, 5 years ago, etc. Twenty years ago we were reading “Scarlett” – the ‘sequel’ to “Gone With the Wind.” Why anyone ever thought that someone other than Margaret Mitchell should have written a sequel, I will never understand. (And I didn’t read it then and don’t plan to read it ever!)

    This is not helping me on my iSixSigma tasks, but a nice little break :)

    Rod – Movie nights are good. My son and I do one a week. Just going through the Dirty Harry series right now.

    NY Times. I hope you wash before posting on a respectable site like this one after touching that rag.

    btw – what’s the advantage to including the @Poster name in your comments? (probably in some documentation somewhere, but I never read that).

    @MBBinWI – I believe it’s so that as a thread gets long and multiple people are responding to multiple posts, you can tell who is answering who.

    @michaelcyger – Can you confirm?

    @katiebarry @MBBinWI using someones username in a post with an @ symbol before it does two things:

    1. It allows you to direct a response to someone specific

    2. It notifies the person via email (if their notification settings allow it) that someone has mentioned them in a post. I’ve included a screenshot of the email I received after Katie mentioned me.

    The @username function works both in activity updates on your profile page (e.g., “Preparing for my final tollgate review with @username in 30 minutes, yikes!”) or on the discussion forum.

    The soon to be new Mrs. Darth recently got me a present…Star Wars, The Complete Vader by Ryder Windham and Peter Vilmur. It goes along with the Darth Light Saber, the Darth Alarm Clock with breathing sounds, the Darth Pez Dispenser, the Darth Mr. Potato Head and Darth M&M guy. Can’t be many of us on here that attended the first one during its original theater run. Its great that we never have to grow up. Now we know what to get KB for her birthday.

    I had the double album for The Empire Strikes Back! I remember bringing it to school with me for some reason and on the bus I was suddenly popular with boys in older grades who were all taking turns (politely as I recall) holding it and looking through the pictures.

    My 4-year old son loves the Star Wars Dictionary he checked out from the library recently. I don’t think he’s quite at the geeky-ness level as you yet, @MBBinWI. But I’m willing to give him a few more years.

    Ah yes the first run the first time when it was just called “Star Wars”…none of that Episode IV stuff. I was one of those first nighters – went straight from work to the movie theater and got to my seat about 30 seconds before the lights dimmed and the movie started…now about geeks – how about going to the local movie theater after the first run of the first three had just left town and begging the theater owner for a movie poster…been there did that…unfortunately Mrs. Butler insists they hang somewhere unobtrusive…but that’s another story.

    Mike, have your son check this out. Honey bought it for me. Suitable for 4 year olds and adults of infantile mentality and behavior.

    @michaelcyger – I checked on the link with eager anticipation, only to be deflated when I realized they misquoted the movie in the product description! It should be, “…more machine now than man” NOT “…more machine than man now.” Clearly the people writing this were not of the Star-Wars-no-episode-number-required generation, because if you were familiar with Alec Guinness’ delivery of lines, you would never make that mistake (not to mention, who’s editing this stuff??). Sheesh.

    @erinducceschi That is disappointing.

    I hope this isn’t going to turn into a situation like that bet at the bar in Seattle where I could have sworn I knew the exact quote from the movie Stripes, and it turned out it was from Animal House. That was devastating for my ego. I’d hate to see that happen to you. ;)

    @katiebarry: But did you have the 2 album London Symphony of the first? One of only a dozen or so albums that I still retain. Glorious score from John Williams. Ranks up there with Beethoven, Bach and Wagner as far as I’m concerned.

    @RobertButler: Good to see you back! Yes, I too managed multiple viewings that first weekend in ’77. Being barely in my teens, I was too stupid to get a poster. I’m envious. You might let the Mrs. know that those are worth a pretty penny, and maybe she’ll let them out in the open. What gets me is that whomever did the artwork clearly wasn’t using any image of Hamill or Fisher.

    Man, can anyone tell me where to buy a lineup card…. I signed up with my real name… now wondering if I need an avatar and a handle…..

    By the way, old enough to remember Dr. Deming….too many stories to share…laugh…one quick one… he always found it “necessary” to have someone helping him with his personal “stuff” and needless to say, they were always female. On one occasion, Susan Leddick, provided the aide (oh…make that Dr. Leddick… great lady). but after he was “tucked in”, she was hanging his one suit that he always wore and strangely, she found in his pocket, a check he had received for doing his previous 4-day seminar….in case, you don’t know or remember, he got $20,000/day for his seminar… so it was a folded check for $80,000… quickly folded and stuck into his pocket. I do so admire him, though… the was the constant learner… and he cared deeply for people…

    @lcadigan Jeepers yourself (we might get censored on this since it’s slang for using the lord’s name in vain – you do know the thought, word, and deeds clause – right?

    Sorry to not be meeting your wisdom quota. I find it usually works best if you bring some too. Kind of like the old Beatles line – “and in the end ….”

    @lcadigan – If you search deeply enough, you’ll find there is actually good stuff here. It’s just that often times those of us how loiter in these halls get bored and need to liven things up.

    Do you have an actual question? If you’re looking for an expose’ on Cp, Cpk, Cpm, Ppk, etc. then you’ve come to the wrong place (no, scratch that, we did that already). Ask your question, or throw your comments out there on something that already exists. But DON’T step into a conversation and say you don’t like the topic, that’s just bad manners.

    She will be made to pay for her insolence. @stanmikel – I didn’t know that jeepers had religious undertones so I guess there was some wisdom expounded upon in this thread. Anyway, the title of the thread should be a hint that this might not be the most wisdom laden thread on the site. @Lebowski – that was not, as Mike thought, an outhouse but my very own Man-Cave.
